George Vetter FotoArt
Travel the world with George through the images he sends back during his upcoming, year-long trip. The natural beauty and awe of Cannon Beach and the Oregon coast attracted George here in 1977. At that same time Floyd Peterson opened Haystack Gallery with his black and white photography and gave classes which George attended. Inspired by Floyd, George set up his own dark room and embarked on his career of capturing the many faces of Cannon Beach. George is known by locals as "the guy with the hat and the camera". Over the years his photo library has grown to more than 100,000 images, including b/w, color, color slides and digital. His credits include the Library of Congress, The Travel Channel, Cannon Beach Historical Society, Cannon Beach Magazine, Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce and Cannon-Beach Net - as well as local and regional publications. George's image "Clark's View" is currently an 8 foot high mural at the Montana Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls, Montana. Digital photography and the Internet have allowed George to realize his dream of sharing images with the world. Besides on the website for his gallery, George's images are featured throughout Cannon-Beach.net and in his downtown gallery next to the fountain in Village Centre where giclees can be seen on canvas up to 36"x48". Visit the gallery or call 503-739-1415 for an appointment.
